I grate my beeswax using a fine cheese grater I've dedicated to wax.  It's less expensive to order the wax in block form, but a lot more labor intensive.

Pastilles are the easier way to go, with wax already broken up into tiny pea size pieces.

Either way, throw them into a crock pot or double broiler (sometimes I'll use a metal bowl inside a sauce pan that's part way filled with water).

I picked up my olive oil and coconut oil from Costco.  You can use the Vitamin E soft gels:  400 i.u. is equal to 1/8 teaspoon.

I chose to use the vitamin E oil from Trader Joe's, which also contains soybean oil so be prepared to use about twice as much.  The vitamin E is a natural preservative.

Use good quality essential oils.  The kind I use are therapeutic grade, which is greater then food grade.

Working at a location that did not have a stove top, our methods became creative.  Our crock pot was only large enough for the wax, so we had to dump the pre-measured amount of melted wax into a glass pyrex pitcher full of warmed coconut oil, olive oil, calendula oil, vitamin E, Lavender and Melaleuca essential oils.

We then poured it into our little metal 1 oz tins with screw cap lids from Freund.

If you go to pour your salve blend and you find that it starts to solidify before you can even get it into the little containers, don't panic.  It's gonna be okay.

Place them flat on your griddle, opening one so you know what's going on in there, and turn the fire to simmer.  Let them re-melt and cool and you will be all good.
