Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  We started our celebration early last night with heart shaped carrots over red pasta sauce and meatballs.

First I cut the carrots into two piece to make working with them easier.  I sliced one long side of the carrot into a point, and then carefully cut a v shape into the other side.

This is the end of the long carrot, already resembling a heart.

I chopped the carrot into quarter inch thick hearts and steamed them to top our pasta sauce.

They'd also be great served raw of course.
