Country living requested windsor chairs to be used around a farm house table in front of the shutter wall in my dining room for their article in the April edition.  I searched high and low for two days at thrifts stores around town and I came up with a truck bed full. I blogged about finding and painting the chairs here.  In the end we used two that I found, two that I already owned and two that a friend loaned me for the actualy photo shoot.

If you didn't notice before, my entry way wall is curved. In fact the wall used to display nine frames of a Sierra Nevada map.

So anyhow, i'm not just talking cutting chairs in half... i'm talking figuring circumfrence and splitting them on a curve. After making a template for my angle, I drew the curve onto my chair.

Then using a jigsaw, I followed the lines.

Two of my chairs I cut exactly in half for my friend Angela Daniels' craft room the month prior. So I already had one half of two chairs that needed their straight cut to be curved.  All of my half chairs are from different chairs except for my favorite chair.  I have both halves of that one.  By the way, Angela's chairs can be seen this month in a publication called Creative Spaces.

After cutting them all in half, the next step is to find the perfect wall arrangement.

Thanks to my trusty husband Dan, I marked a pencil line under each chair to note where to place the metal L brackets.

I'm also trying to decide if I paint the brackets the wall color or do something more creative with them. Perhaps we'll engineer another way to hang them so we don't have any L brackets to worry about!

Okay. So now what? My original thought was to paint Ikea pots orange for a pop of color but after experimenting with two sample pots, I decieded to leave them white for now.

I planted each one with succulents which was really lame because the chairs were as such a level that you couldn't even see the green of the plant.

So I repotted spider plants snippings I had rooting from the mother plant in my bathroom.

It happened to be November by this point so I added little orange pumpkins next to every plant.

At Christmas time I displayed Santas from my santa collection on each chair. I love these guys. Most are made from wood, but there are a couple fabrics ones and even a santa made from a guard.

Not sure what my plans are for any upcoming Holidays. The house feels so clean and decluttered now that we've packed away Christmas, I think I may leave them as is for a while. It'll be fun to mix it up here and there.

One of our Christmas card displays remains leaning on the wall next to the chairs. I blogged about this guy a couple weeks ago. We've now filled two of them and we'll probably look at everyone's pictures for a couple more months until we put them all together in a christmas card book.
